Faber, Leona M. (12 JUL 1926 - 20 FEB 2013)

Leona M. Faber, 86 of Marshfield died as a result of an automobile accident on Wednesday afternoon, February 20, 2013 south of Marshfield.

Funeral services will be 11am Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Rembs Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Krueger officiating. Burial will take place in West Spencer Cemetery, town of Sherman, Clark County with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Visitations will be on Monday at Rembs Funeral Home from 9:30am until time of services.

Leona was born on July 12, 1926 in Woodstock, IL to Walter and Elsie (Meusling) Gehrke. She was united in marriage to Joseph Faber March 1944 in Crystal Lake, IL. He died in December 1989.

They farmed in Alden, IL until 1957 when they moved to Loyal where they farmed until their son Joseph took over the farm in 1966. Joe and Leona moved to Spencer where she worked for Land O' Lakes Cheese for 20 years.

They enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. She always took care of friends and neighbors who were in need. She enjoyed bingo, spending time at family functions and casino trips with family and friends.

Leona is survived by two children, Joseph (Jean) Faber and Barb (Larry) Noeldner both of Marshfield; 13 grandchildren, Tammy (Kurt) Heil, Sandra (Gerard) Leonard, Robert (Tracy) Faber, Edward (Tracy) Faber, Steven (Jessie) Faber, Mike (Michele) Noeldner, Sheri Noeldner Sheda, Dana (Scott) Bores, Renee (Melvin) Yoder, John (Stacy Carolfi) Noeldner, Troy Noeldner, Donnie and Nichole. She is further survived by 20 great- grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Lillian Gehrke of Crystal Lake, IL and a special niece Sharon, "her little flower".

Besides her parents and husband Joseph, she was preceded in death by a son Larry, brother Melvin Gehrke and a sister Elsie Lein.
