Hynes, Mary Jane (8 OCT 1924 - 11 FEB 2013)
Mary Jane Theresa Klein Hynes, 88, of King (formerly of Withee) passed away
Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Wisconsin Veterans Home, King. Memorial services will
be held June 22, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburndale.
Mary was born Oct. 8, 1924, to Nicholas and Mary Klein in Algona, Iowa.
Mary was married Aug. 4, 1948, to Joseph E. Hynes in Bancroft, Iowa. Also a
resident of Wisconsin Veterans Home, Joseph died Dec. 29, 2002. They dairy
farmed north of Withee from 1960, before retiring to a home in Withee. In
addition to raising eight children, Mary was responsible for household and
financial management on the farm she and Joe (Ed) owned. After the children were
grown, you could frequently find Mary milking cows or driving tractor. Despite
the busy farm, Mary loved to read, frequently volunteered her services as a
member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen, and always found time to spend
with her children. Family remained important throughout her life, and time was
always found to attend family reunions, weddings or funerals. Her cheerful
personality and bright smile will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by five sons, Patrick (Jan), Dan (Leigh), Tom (Janet), Mike
(Kathy), John (Dara); two daughters, Carolyn (Gordon) Ovans, and Virginia (Gary)
Messick; and son-in-law, Jerome Schill. She is further survived by 17
grandchildren, three great-granddaughters; and siblings, Ray (Genevieve) Klein
and Sister Imogene Klein, OSF.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Hynes; daughter, Elaine
(Jerome) Schill; her parents, Nicholas and Mary Klein; and siblings, Albert,
Evelyn (Ben) Thilges, Viola (Ken) Bollig, Edward (Ida) Klein Sr., and Eleanor
(Adolph) Kass.
Family would like to thank the staff at Wisconsin Veterans Home for over ten
years of thoughtful and considerate care of Mary Jane.
