Snyder, Daniel D. (21 JUL 1910 - 5 APR 1964)
Daniel Dean Snyder, 53, Alto, 17 Shell Road, Mill Valley, Calif., Marin Co.,
suffered a stroke and passed away April 5, 1964, in a San Francisco Hospital. He
was born in Mt. Pulaski, Ill., July 21, 1910, youngest son of James J. and
Mollie Snyder. He attended Mt. Pulaski grade school. In 1920 the family moved to
a farm south of Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., where he attended Sterling Grade School
and Thorp High School. Dean moved to Calif. in 1939 and married Dorothy Marinini
in 1942. He was a custodian at Edna Maguire School, member of the Alto Volunteer
Firemen for 16 years. Snyder was a veteran of World War II, serving in the
Pacific Zone.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Snyder and one son, Walter Dean of Mill
Valley, one step-daughter, Mrs. Betty Lowman, Fresno Co., Brawley, Calif., one
step-son, Steven J. Marinini, Novato, Calif., three brothers, Lawrence of
Seattle, Wash., Ben of Bellwood, Ill., Harold of Elmhurst, Ill., two sister,
Norma Cipper, La Cross, Wis., Bernita Snyder, Owen, Wis., and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 8, 1964 at the Memorial Chapel of
Russell and Gooch Mortuary, 270 Miller Ave., Mill Valley, Calif. Interment was
in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, Calif.
