Hoesly, Clarence: (12 Nov 1937-6 Feb 2013)

Clarence Hoesly, 75, Granton, died on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, after a long battle with a blood disorder, Myelodyspastic Syndrome. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 9, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Steve Brice officiated. Interment will be in the Town of York Cemetery at a later date.

Clarence William Hoesly was born on Nov. 12, 1937, in Loyal, the son of Baltz and Leona (nee Kessler) Hoesly. He attended and graduated from Loyal High School and married Sandy Lezotte. Clarence farmed his entire life in the town of York. Along with farming, he also worked for the Mullins
York Cheese factory, hauling milk and making cheese. He also worked for Plautz Bros. and Boon Bros. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal, and was a town supervisor and chairman for the town of York. He was a committee member for the Farm Agency Service (FAS). He served on the board of directors and as secretary for Clark Electric and he also served on the board of directors and was treasurer for the Dairyland Power Co-op.

His enjoyment was farming and the animals on the farm. He also enjoyed his 36 years of singing with the Clark County Male Chorus. Other enjoyments of his include square dancing, socializing and telling stories, boating and picnics. Most of all, though, Clarence enjoyed spending time with his family and being with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Hoesly; seven children, Dean Mary) Hoesly, Granton, Kelly (Steve) Busse, Prescott, Rhonda (Todd)Schultz, Stratford, Rosalind (Gary) Ross, Custer, Jane (Troy) Cina, Mendoro, Peggy (Ed) Stumpner, Loyal, and Karl (Jessica) Hoesly, Osseo; grandchildren Nicole, Danielle and Paul Hoessly, Michael (Alyssa) Busse, Melissa (Matthew) Brand, Hunter and Ashley Schultz, Ben, Phillip, Garrett, Katherine,Olivia, Matthew, Julia and Jacob Ross, Tiffany, Janelle, Amber and Tyler Cina, Miranda and Cole Stumpner and Gage , Trenton and Hutch Hoesly; and one sister, Kathy Degenhardt, Green Bay.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Irvin, and a sister, Virginia.
