Man Killed in Auto Accident Here
One person, a Hammond, Indiana man, was killed and four others were injured here
early Saturday morning in an auto accident which occurred on the curve on the
north village limits at the Wadhams service station.
The accident happened at 4:15 A. M. Saturday when the driver, William A.
Sullivan, fell asleep at the wheel and drove off the road at the curve coming
from the north. The other six passengers in the car were also sleeping at the
time.
The group included Marion Eherenhardt, 52, Hammond, Ind., who was killed, the
driver, William A. Sullivan, 43, Bernard Walsch, 47 and John Garrett, 55, all of
Hammond and Erwin Miller, 35, Lansing, Ill., who were injured and taken to St.
Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield. Also in the car were two sons of the occupants,
Charles Miller, 9 and Terry Sullivan, 11, who were uninjured.
The party had driven all night [o]n the return trip from a fishing trip in
Minnesota. The car was pulling a two –wheel trailer and both car and trailer
were badly smashed with the auto, a Buick, being an almost total wreck.
