Arthur Brusten (4 July 1894 - May 1973)
NOTE: In other places I've encountered this family, the name has been spelled
Brueston.
Arthur John Brusten, 78-year-old Medford resident, died about 7 p.m. Sunday. He
was pronounced dead on arrival after having been taken by ambulance to the
Medford Hospital, Medford, following a sudden illness while walking on the
city's east side.
Funeral services were held here Wednesday afternoon at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran
Church. Rev. Marvin W. Zank officiated and burial took place in Evergreen
Cemetery. The body lay in state at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford, where a
private family devotional service was held Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. Brusten was born July 4, 1894, in the town of Holton, Marathon County and
received his education there. His marriage to Ida Bolz Lindow, who survives,
took place November 23, 1939, at Waukon, Ia.
He worked for a period of time in the mines at Butte, Mont., before moving to
Medford where he was employed by the Hurd Millwork Corp., until his retirement
in 1963. Mr. Brusten was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Arden of Medford; a stepson,
Kenneth Lindow of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Shirley, Mrs. John
Sparbel of Wausau; two half-brothers, Morris Anderson of Medford, and Daniel
Anderson of the town of Greenwood, and nine grandchildren.
A half-brother, Howard Anderson, preceded him in death.
