Misses Ella Hales and Allie Root spending this week at Madison and Wales.
Earl Campbell and Miss Olive Schafer of Neillsville spent Sunday in this
vicinity.
Mrs. Florent Rowe and daughter, Merle, spent last week at Neillsville with Mrs.
Rowe’s parents, C. Campbell and wife.
Byron and Art Judd and Byron Bassett of Loyal autoed on our streets last Sunday.
E.E. Fulwiler and family and Miss Clara Miller of Loyal visited with A.P.
Fulwiler and family last Sunday.
Children’s day exercises have been postponed to June 20. Owing to some
unfavorable circumstance the program could not be arranged for next Sunday.
John Vande Berg had hay baled last Monday.
Frank Kubat is building a brick silo for Ernest Grabe.
Mrs. Joseph Eysnogle had a bad hemorrhage from the nose one day last week. It
lasted four hours.
We are requested to say that there will be a meeting in the M.W.A. hall Friday
night to plan a Fourth of July picnic.
Mrs. Deets ran the iron into her eye while she was curling her hair, and it is
causing her lots of trouble since then.
J.F. Mortimer, wife and daughter spent Tuesday at Marshfield.
Miss Vivian Brooks closed school in district No. 2 last Friday with a picnic.
Miss Brooks has taught this school for three years and gave good satisfaction.
She will not teach next year, but intends to attend some Normal school.
Last Saturday night lightning killed two cows and a yearling for George
Mortimer.
W.J. Davis, wife and daughter, Arzula, spent a few days last week near Colby
with J.B. Daughhetee and family.
Ferd Haack went to Algoma Tuesday on a visit to his mother.
Clarence Bardell and Miss Nina Parrett were married at Greenwood last Wednesday.
Donald Grabe had the end of a finger taken off and another one injured last
Saturday while handling some brick for his father’s silo. His hand was caught in
a pulley.
