Shortville (17 JUN 1915)

The Ladies Aid at Andrew Short’s was quite well attended in spite of the bad weather.

The dance at the town hall Friday evening was well attended, and everyone reported a most enjoyable time.

M. Skoda has been on the sick list the past week.

Several of the Shortville nine went to Cannonville Sunday to see the game between Pleasant Ridge and Cannonville, but the Ridge failed to put in an appearance. Guess they couldn’t get their Neillsville and Granton players, or they couldn’t play on water yet.

Walter Bell has his new barn completed.

The Band practiced at the hall Sunday night.

Several from around here took stock to Neillsville Tuesday.

Geo. Bue’s two nieces returned to their homes at Ettrich Saturday.

Plans are under way for a big celebration to be held here the fifth of July. Shortville and Cannonville will celebrate together. A picnic will be held during the day and a dance at night. No definite plans for the place it is to be held are made as yet.
