The Trinity Lutheran Church parsonage was the scene of the wedding of Miss Ilene
Margaret Shaw of Marshfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Shaw, Ladysmith, and
Elroy L. Cramer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Cramer, Spencer, Saturday afternoon,
September 19 at 2:30 o’clock. The Rev. A. C. Stapel officiated at the ceremony.
The bride was costumed in a blue wool jersey suit with black accessories and had
a shoulder corsage of white gladiolas and red roses. She wore a string of
pearls, a gift of the groom.
Miss Virginia Korth, Marshfield a friend of the bride, was maid of honor and was
attired in a grey twill suit with black accessories and had a corsage of white
asters, and carnations and red roses.
Mr. Cramer wore a brown gabardine suit and his best man, Marvin L. Shaw,
Milwaukee, brother of the bride wore a grey gabardine suit.
The bride’s mother was attired in a grey blue silk crepe dress and the mother of
the groom wore rose silk crepe. Both wore shoulder corsages of mixed flowers.
The home of the groom’s parents was beautifully decorated with pastel streamers,
white wedding bells and garden flowers. It was the scene of the reception and a
supper in the late afternoon. The dining table was centered with a huge tiered
wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom.
The bride is a graduate of the Ladysmith High School after which she served 2 ½
years with the U. S. Navy. The groom graduated from the Spencer High School and
also served with the U. S. Navy. The bride has been employed in the X-Ray
department of the Marshfield Clinic and the groom is employed with the
Thomsen-Abbot Construction Co. in Marshfield.
After spending their honeymoon in southern Wisconsin, the couple will be at home
to friends and relatives on West Arnold St., Marshfield.
Wedding guests included Mr. and Mrs. Noah Shaw, Ladysmith; Mrs. Mary Laidlaw,
Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wyman, Green Bay; and Mr. and Mrs. Gil Colrud and
Patsy Jo, Mrs. Louise Cramer, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Krause, Rev. and Mrs. A. C.
Stapel and Gerald Cramer of Spencer.
The Record joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best
wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
