Erwin D. Kobs Killed By Train
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran
Church, Marshfield, for Erwin D. Kobs, 47 of Marshfield, who was accidently
killed by a Soo Line train at the West end of Arnold street in Marshfield last
Thursday afternoon.
Mr. Kobs, a former Spencer resident, was living in Marshfield at the time of his
death and had been employed at Felker Brothers Manufacturing Co. He was the son
of Mr. and Mrs. William Kobs, Spencer.
Surviving besides his parents are his wife and two children, James, 12, and
Doris, 11; three brothers, Martin, Marshfield, and Daniel and Willard, Spencer,
and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Haslow, Wausau, and Mrs. Leo (Laverna) Crane,
Pasadena, Calif.
The Rev. G. M. Krueger officiated at the services and burial was made in the
Lutheran cemetery at Hillside in Marshfield.
Pallbearers were Floyd Driscoll, Russell Andrews, Myron Foth, Herman Martin,
Douglas Graham and Emil Karau.
A large number of relatives and friends from here attended the funeral.
