Coming Home For Final Burial

The casketed remains of Sargent Harold E. Bruesewitz, the first World War II deceased member of the Army from Spencer to be returned from overseas for final burial, will arrive in Spencer in the next few weeks accompanied by a uniformed Army escort from the Chicago Distribution center of the American Graves Registration Division.

The body of Sargent Bruesewitz was interred in Henri Chapelle in Belgium, but has been returned to this country for final interment at the request of his next of kin, Mr. Fred H. Bruesewitz, Rural Free Deliver No. 2, Spencer, Wisconsin

The exact date of the arrival of the body is not as yet known but all business places in Spencer are requested to be closed during the funeral services to pay due homage to this boy of ours who made the supreme sacrifice. You will be notified at least 24 hours in advance as to the date and hour of the funeral.
