Porter , Mr./Mrs. M. (Gold - ? AUG 1913)

Mr. and Mrs. M(bad copy) Porter of Riplinger observed their golden wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 17 at the Soo Grove schoolhouse, now owned by Orville Wickman.  Mr. Porter is 75 years old and Mrs. Porter is 74.  Both are quite active for their age.

Dinner and supper was served to about 115 guests.  A beautiful arm chair in garnet leather was a gift from the couples brothers and sisters and an eight piece serving of American stainless steel tableware from their children.  Many other gifts and money were received by the honored couple.

Their children and 23 of the 27 grandchildren were present.  They are: Mr. and Mrs. Edw. Porter, Lyndia, Charlene, Paul, Cindy and Virgil of Wallace, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Porter and Clifford of Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rimm, Alvin, David, Jean and Joan (twins), Donald, Lola, Lucy and Ray of Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Porter, Gary, Michael, Carol, Susan, James, Robert and Barbara of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Porter, Manistiqua, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sell and Donna, Loyal.

The brothers and sister of the couple attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Nason, Portenfield; Mr. and Mrs. George Oudyn and David of Platteville; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lathrop, Sr., Wauzeka; Mr. and Mrs. James McCarthy, Prairie du Chien; Mr. and Mrs. John McCarthy, Steuben; Mrs. Mary Miller of Madison; Mr. Charles Herold, Wauzeka.
