Thums, Madelyne P. (26 AUG 1943 - 4 MAR 2013)

Madelyne P. Thums, age 69, of Curtiss, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 Friday, March 8, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Father Dan Hackel will officiate. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM with a Rosary at 4 PM on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Colby and visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church in Colby.

Madelyne was born August 26, 1943 to Frank and Dorothy (Steffensehn) Arrigoni in Cicero, Illinois. She graduated from Proviso East High School in Maywood, IL.

Madelyne and Ronald Thums were united in marriage on February 1, 1964 in Forest Park, IL. They later moved to the Curtiss area. Madelyne graduated from St. Joseph's Nursing School and worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in the birthing center.

Madelyne was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. She was a volunteer at the public library and the Humane Society of Clark County. Madelyne enjoyed crafting, camping, fishing, and traveling. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her lasting sense of humor and kind heart.

Madelyne is survived by her husband, Ronald Thums, her children: Julie Burt of Rhinelander, Ben (Sherri) Thums of Hartland, and Dori (Adam) Tooke of Milwaukee; and her grandchildren: Christopher Thums, Alex Thums, and Veronica Tooke. She is further survived by her half-brothers: Bill (June) Johnsen of Oak Lawn, IL and George (Kathy) Thode of Stoughton, WI.

Madelyne is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Carl Arrigoni, and her half brother, Fred Thode.

The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the Thums family with funeral arrangements.
