Bardeleben, Herbert (17 May 1889 - 24 August 1968)

Herbert F. Bardeleben, 79, of Neillsville, died here Saturday following a long illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Bardeleben was born May 17, 1889, in Clark County. He attended rural school in the Neillsville area. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in France. On returning to Clark County, he was engaged in farming in the Town of Pine Valley. On July 26, 1922, he was married to the former Emma Marg in Neillsville. They moved into Neillsville in 1960.

He was a member of the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and of Haugen-Richmond Post, No. 73, American Legion.

Mr. Bardeleben is survived by his wife; three children, Arthur of Beloit; Mrs. James (Gladys) Cummings of alma Center; and Mrs. Dan (Helen) Houlihan of Sioux City, Ia.; one brother, Robert of Neillsville; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
