Talso, Lydia (1875 – 17 DEC 1963)
Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon,
December 21 from the Bethany Lutheran Church, Owen, for Mrs. Matti (Lydia) Talso
with Pastor Lauri Isaacson officiating.
Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church
of Owen.
Serving as pallbearers were Laurence Scheuerman, Milton
Seaman, Toivo Manninen, Arne Holopainen, Nielo Kytola, Carl Manninen.
Miss Bunee Kraut sang “Near The Cross: and “Sweet Hour
of Prayer,” accompanied by Mrs.
Toivo Kallio.
A resident of the Town of Longwood for the past 51
years, Mrs. Matti (Lydia) Talso passed away at the home of her son Rudy, on
December 17, 1963.
Her death was attributed to a heart condition.
Born in Finland on April 7, 1875, Mrs. Talso had
attained the age of 88 years, eight months and 10 days.
The deceased, nee Lydia Tolonen, was united in
marriage to the late Matti Talso in 1901 at Ely, Minnesota.
The couple moved to the Town of Longwood 11
years later establishing their home on a farm.
Since her husband’s death she continued to live
on the home place with her son Rudy.
Surviving are five sons, Rudy and Vaino of route 3,
Greenwood; Elmer Talso of Garibaldi, Oregon; a daughter of Garibaldi, Oregon; a
daughter Talso
of Waukegan, Illinois; Ralph Talso of
Garibaldi, Oregon, a daughter Alice Talso of Oak Park,, Illinois, and three
grandsons.
