LAABS-KOEHLER NUPITALS READ IN WAUSAU PARISH
After
the first of the year, James Arthur Laabs and his bride of Saturday, December
31, Miss Kathleen Caroline Koehler, are making their home at 709 Frost Drive,
Bay City, Mich.
The
bridegroom, who had been making his home there, is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Orville A. Laabs, Curtiss, and his wife is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Koehler, Edgar. She was a finalist
in the 1962 Alice in Dairyland contest.
Their
4:00 p.m. marriage service was held in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wausau, the
Rev. Duane C. Hoven, Pastor, officiating.
Delivering the marriage sermon was the Rev. Roger L. Tellock,Curtiss.
Mrs.
A. S. Erickson was at the organ and Misses Sara Gohdes and Bunee Kraut were
soloists.
The
bride chose for the wedding a sheath of peau de soie featuring unpressed
pleating at the back with a removable train.
The bodice had a bateau neckline and cording, bugle beads and rose
appliqués created of pearls were utilized for trim.
A
wedding cake crown of crystals and pearls held her bouffant veil.
She carried white camellias and stephanotis on a lace covered Bible.
Emerald green gowns were worn by the attendants, including the flower girl,
Lynette Louise Fandre, Wausau. They
were styled of brocade featuring belled skirts marked with bows.
Bows and pearls trimmed their green pillbox hats and they carried
snowballs of white carnations.
Mrs.
Ben Fandre, Wausau, was matron of honor and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Marvin
Venzke, Athens; Mrs. Richard Goff, Beaver Dam, and Miss Sharon Willner, Colby.
