Goeltz-Phillips
On Saturday, May 1st at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon, Kathryn R. Phillips,
Spencer, Wisconsin became the bride of Frank W. Goeltz, Colby, Wisconsin, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Goeltz, Colby Wisconsin, at the home of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Phillips, Spencer, Wisconsin. Rev. Arthur Oates performed the
ceremony.
The bride’s costume consisted of a white silk jersey street length dress trimmed
with lace, she carried flowers.
The Maid of Honor, Miss Velere Phillips, the brides sister, wore an aqua dress
identical to the brides with a string of pearls, a gift of the birde. She had a
corsage made up of pink and white carnations. The bridesmaid, Mrs. Bill Neitzel,
Colby, sister of the groom chose a pink dress also identical to the brides with
a string of pearls as a gift from the bride. Her corsage was also made up of
pink and white carnations.
Serving as best man was Donald Buehing, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the grooms cousin
and groomsman was Bill Neitzel, Colby, Wisconsin, the grooms brother-in-law.
A reception followed the wedding dinner at the home of the brides parents.
The bride is a graduate of the Spencer High School Class of ’44 and the Central
State Teachers College with the Class of ’46. The groom is a graduate of the
Colby High School with the Class [of] ’45. He served 16 months, in the U. S.
Navy.
The couple will live at Oshkosh where the groom is employed.
Mrs. Myrtle Metzger, Spencer, was the pianist and Mr. C. A. Nelsen, Colby the
soloist.
The brides mother chose an aqua silk crepe dress with corsage of pink and white
carnations.
The grooms mother chose a flowered silk jersey dress with corsage of pink and
white carnations.
Out of town guests included: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wickmann, Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs.
Stanley Buehing, Oshkosh; Mr. Donald Buehing, Oshkosh; Miss Joyce Rucsh,
Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Flanders, Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kloehn,
Pickett; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Phillips, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bartlett,
New London; and Misses Ruth and Alice Bartlett, New London.
The Record joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best
wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
