Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Ellingson, 90, of Medford were held last
Thursday from Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church, Medford. Burial was in the
Milan cemetery.
Mrs. Ellingson died Jan. 25 in Memorial Hospital, Medford, where she was a
patient four days.
Elsie Ludwig was born July 24, 1880 in Germany, and came to this country at the
age of 2 years with her parents. The family settled in the town of Holton, and
she attended Bruckerville school. She and Carl Ellingson were married here April
19, 1898. They homesteaded in town of Deer Creek, and she resided there until
1946, when she went to California. In 1949, she moved to Medford where she had
since resided. Her husband died April 27, 1930.
Survivors include a son Clifford, town of Deer Creek; two daughters: Mrs. Pearl
Drabeck, Stetsonville, and Mrs. Gladys Doberstein, Medford; 17 grandchildren; 47
great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Besides her husband, a son, a daughter, four brothers, and nine sisters preceded
her in death.
