Mannigel, Karen Jean (Marriage - August 1968)
Miss Karen Jean Mannigel of Rt. 2 Granton, exchanged nuptial vows Saturday with
William James Hoeft of Granton, in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev.
Roland Roehrs in Zion Lutheran Church, Granton. Parents of the couple are Mr.
and Mrs. Alfred Knaak of Rt. 1 Marshfield, and Mr. and Mrs. William Hoeft of
Granton.
White Gladioli with light and dark pink carnations mixed with ferns made up the
altar bouquets. Mrs. Lee Garbisch played nuptial music, as Mr. Knaak gave Miss
Mannigel in marriage.
For her wedding the bride wore a floor-length gown, styled with a natural
waistline and a fitted bodice, which was enhanced with three-quarter-length
sleeves and a scoop neckline. Beaded lace appliqués on the bodice extended into
the dome skirt. A beaded Watteau panel cascaded from under a bow at the back
neckline. A cluster of small bows of matching fabric held her short tiered veil.
She carried a bouquet of pink roses, white chrysanthemums and feather ferns.
Mrs. Janet Portz of Marshfield was her matron-of-honor; Mrs. Linda Coyle of
Durand served as bridesmaid. Each wore a floor-length gown, styled with a crepe
skirt over acetate. The empire waistline was topped by a lace bodice. A Watteau
panel cascaded from the back neckline. Their small veils were held by bow
headpieces. Each carried white chrysanthemums with pink bow streamers.
Bestman was Fred Portz of Marshfield. Groomsman was Ollie “Mac” Coyle of Durand.
Richard Drescher of Wisconsin Rapids and Leon Knaak of Marshfield ushered.
The bride is a 1958 graduate of Senior High School in Marshfield, has been
employed in Marshfield. Mr. Hoeft, a 1959 graduate of Granton high School, is
self-employed as a trucker. They will reside on Rt. 2 Granton.
