Palms, Nancy (Marriage - 31 August 1968)
Nancy Lee Palms, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert K. Palms of Rt. 3 Thorp, became
the bride Saturday of James Anton Fitzl, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Fitzl of Rt.
2 Greenwood. The 1 p.m. nuptial ceremony was performed by the Rev. Leander
Koopman in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose for her wedding a floor-length
Empire A-line gown, styled with an Alencon lace bodice. A detachable Watteau
train of peau de soie enhanced the back of the gown. The round neckline and
train were edged with lace ruffles. A headpiece of organza petals and orange
blossoms held her veil. She carried a bouquet of yellow gladioli and white
chrysanthemums.
Bridal aides were Miss Mary Fitzl, maid-of-honor; Miss Judith Sumer, and Miss
Marcia Meinholdt, bridesmaids. The aides wore floor-length blue
nylon-over-taffeta gowns, with white bodices. Matching bow headpieces held their
small veils. A small train highlighted each ensemble. Each carried a bouquet
similar to that of the bride.
The groom was attended by Charles Hase of Greenwood as bestman. His groomsmen
were Ronald Henchen and Kenneth Fitzl, both of Greenwood. Ushers were Larry Duda
and Ervin Kollmansberger, Jr., of Greenwood.
Mr. and Mrs. Fitzl left on a wedding trip to Pensacola, Fla., where Mr. Fitzl is
stationed at the naval center. He is a member of the Marine Corps.
