Pleasant Ridge (5 September 1968)
Glenn Short and Wendell Hubing flew to Ottumwa, Ia., Sunday in Mr. Short’s
antique bi-plane, where they attended the annual National Antique fly-in Sunday
and Monday.
Miss Marian Hantke of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Orvilla Quinn of Cumberland, Mrs.
Kenneth Bertrand of Hyattsville, Md., and Mrs. Minnie Krueger of Milwaukee,
visited relatives on Pleasant Ridge Sunday. The out-of-town people and Elsie
Wolf visited Hilda Kurth in Neillsville in the afternoon.
Guests of Mrs. Ella Magnuson and daughter, Shirley, Monday were Mrs. Kenneth
Bertrand of Hyattsville, Md., Hilda Kurth of Neillsville, Mrs. Minnie Krueger of
Milwaukee and Elsie Wolf.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Vine of Chicago, Ill. spent the weekend with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Vine, and her mother, Mrs. Melba Campbell, in Neillsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Zieroth and family of Waconia, Minn., visited from Friday until
Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Verne G. Howard. Weekend guests at the
Howard home were Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Conon and family of St. Charles, Ill., who
also visited at the William Howard home.
Mr. and Mrs. Arne Eisentraut and daughters of Rockford, Ill., spent the weekend
at the Eisentraut cottage in Hatfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Babka and family of Black River Falls visited her father, Art
Hubing, Saturday and Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Swann of Tucson, Ariz., who have been visiting his father,
George Swann, in Crandon, and her sister, Mrs. Ellery Moberg, in Greenwood,
called Saturday on relatives and friends in the Pleasant Ridge area.
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Stanley and family of Grays Lake, Ill., were weekend guests at
the Leon Stanley home.
Mr. and Mrs. Gale Bernett of Sparta are planning to leave September 14 for
Hawaii for visit her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Chase. Kenneth is
stationed there with the Navy.
