North Hewett (15 Jul 1915)

Bennie Hart has gone to Alma Center to work.

Don Jacobs, who for many years resided here with his parents and went to Washington seven years ago, has returned to Alma Center where he is working. We would all like to see Don again.

Susan Drake, an old resident of this place for many years, died at her home in Hayward about two weeks ago. She leaves many friends to mourn her death in this neighborhood, for she was like a sunbeam, wherever she went and was the jolliest old person the writer ever saw, always seeing the bright side of everything.

Mrs. Dave Wood spent Sunday with her mother in Neillsville.

James Stott lost one of his horses last week. The other horse kicked it on the leg breaking it twice. It had to be shot.

Lon Cook and wife and son Ben and Mrs. Will Cook and children spent the 5th of July with Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Randall.

Walter Amidon and wife were up here from Melrose July 1st, visiting their folks, Mr. and Mrs. D. Wood. Ye scribe acknowledges a pleasant visit also.

Walter Durst sports a nice top buggy.
