Pleasant Ridge (29 Jul 1915)

Plans are being made for a social picnic about Aug. 7th. Watch for particulars next week.

The Wilson peace party on H.O. Huckstead’s lawn last Friday evening was highly enjoyed by all present. Every moment was filled with clever entertainment and a fitting climax was the gathering around a camp fire for a marshmallow and wiener roast.

Henry Huckstead celebrated his 82nd birthday Friday at his son, Bert’s.

Emil Jahr is enjoying a visit from his sister and daughter from West Bend this week.

Mrs. Bert Swann’s sister from Chicago and also some cousins spent last week and this with them.

Fred Darling moved his family from the Wren farm to Bill King’s Saturday.

Mr. Wren’s niece from Iowa is keeping house for him.

Little Lulu Schultz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Schultz, had the misfortune to break her arm above the elbow last Wednesday. It seems to be doing nicely.

Caddie Slocomb is having a siege with inflammatory rheumatism. She is at the home of her sister, Mrs. George West.

Mrs. Alma Spencer of Milwaukee and Mrs. Dell Rodman of Neillsville spent a day of last week with Mrs. Ed. Selves.

John Vine and wife spent Sunday at Ed Huckstead’s.

Helen Short spent Saturday and Sunday with her cousin, Irene Counsell.
