Anna Froland (19 Jan 1838 – 17 Dec 1921)
At about one o’clock Saturday afternoon, Dec. 17th, Mrs. Anna Froland died here
at the home of her son, Henry, of cancer of the stomach, at the age of 83 years
and 11 months.
The funeral was held at the Norwegian Lutheran Church, Tuesday afternoon, Dec.
20th, Rev. H. P. Nordby, of Baldwin, officiating and interment took place at the
Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery. G. A. Bobbe, J. Garvue, John Olson, Hans Olson,
Ernest Kramer, and Nels Nelson acted as pall bearers.
Anna Johnson was born in Norway on Jan. 19th, 1838 and grew to womanhood there
and married Ole Froland. They immigrated to the United States in 1867 and went
to Winchester, Wis., thence to Dorchester where they were among the first
pioneer settlers, going onto a homestead near here. One child was born to them,
Henry Froland, who with his wife and children survive her.
The mother hands are folded and her voice will never again greet the loved ones
but we would not call her back for she has gone to that beloved home, prepared
for those who love their Savior, where grief and pain can never come.
The many Dorchester friends join in extending sincerest sympathy to the bereaved
ones.
