The altar of Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski, Wis. Was adorned with
lilacs for the marriage ceremony of Elizabeth Ann Diers and Richard A. Wolf on
Saturday, May 29th, 1965. Rev. Edward Roskas performed the 10:30 a.m. Holy Mass.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Diers, Edgar, Wis. And Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. Wolf, Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis.
The bride chose an A-line dress of "Peasantina" silk with detachable train.
Motifs of imported re-embroidered French Alencon lace embroidered with pearls
styled the skirt. A crown of Alencon lace encrusted with pearls and crystals
held her English silk illusion veil and she carried a cascade bouquet of calla
lilies.
Miss Elmira Diers, the bride's sister, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were
Joan Wyss, a friends, Eleanor Diers, sister of the bride, and Betty Mueller,
cousin of the groom. They all wore lime ricky slim dresses with floor length
skirt and short sleeves of silk shantung. Their headpieces were circlet of
shantung embroidered with pearls with short veil and each carried a cascade
bouquet of yellow daisies with accent of Statusin.
All dresses were styled and made by the bride and Mrs. Nick Karlen, Edgar, Wis.
Edward Milawski was his cousin's best man, and ushers were Ronald Diers, bride's
brother, John Hecos and Fran Faber, both friends of the groom.
A dinner and supper were held at the church parlors and a reception was held at
the Moonlight Gardens, Poniatowski. A dance from 9 - 1 was at the Rib River
Ballroom.
The bride's mother witnessed her daughter's wedding in a lavender dress with
white accessories and the groom's mother wore a yellow dress with white
accessories, and each wore a corsage of gladioli blooms and roses.
The bride attended Madison Vocational and Adult School fo Practical Nursing and
was employed at Memorial, Wausau, Wis. The groom attended Midwestern
Universities Research and is employed as an Electronics Technician at Madison.
They will be at home at 458 N. Few St., Madison, after a trip to the Eastern
states.
Honored guests were Rev. Hugo Diers, Mrs. Mary Wartner, Mr. Herman Fischer, Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Mueller and Miss Linda Sommers.
