Sliva, Joseph (20 OCT 1887 - 14 JUL 1965)
Joseph Sliva, a former resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), Route 2, passed away
in Chicago July 14, 1965. After a Requiem Mass at All Saints Cathedral he was
laid to rest at All Saints Cemetery on Higgins Road, July 17, 1965.
He was born in Poland Oct. 20, 1887 and came to America at the age of seventeen.
He resided in Chicago, where he was married Aug. 11, 1911. Joseph and his wife
Aniela moved to Wisconsin where their five daughters attended elementary and
high school.
After theri children had grown up, they moved back to Chicago into their present
home at 4829 N. Mobile Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sliva celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Aug. 11,
1961 at Fort Lauderdale, Fla and the New England States. Theirs was a full and
happy life. He leaves to mourn, his wife Aniela; five daughters, Anna, Mary
(Rev. Harold Elliott); Helen (Major Robert Kodel); , Stella (Steve Dubicz) and
Julia (John Gronkiewicz); also 4 grandchildren; Iva Mary Dubicz, Jean
Gronkiewicz, Joseph and Kent Kodel, a brother John of Thorp, and a sister Mrs.
Mary Robah in Chicago.
A wonderful husband, a devoted father and a congenial relative, neighbor and
friend of many, he will be sadly missed by all.
