Miss Eileen Frances Keegan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Keegan, Elkhorn,
Wis., became the bride of Charles William McQuillan, son of Mrs. Ardetta
McQuillan, Cudahy, Wis. On Saturday, Aug. 28th, 1965 at St. Patrick's Catholic
Church, Elkhorn, Wis. Rev. Joseph Hanouska performed the eleven a.m. service.
Mrs. Phil Welsh was organist for the soloist, Mrs. Robert Szymkowski and St.
Patrick's Catholic School choir.
The bride wore a floor length gown of white crepe fashioned with fitted raised
waistline, bodice trimmed with Alencon lace motifs and a bow detailed Watteau
accent the back of the gown. A petal organza headpiece held her French illusion
veil and she carried a bouquet of butterfly orchids, stephanotis, ivy and bells
of Ireland.
Miss Sallie Jo Keegan was her sister's maid of honor, wearing a white organza
over Nile green taffeta gown styled with a Venice lace midriff and cuffs. The
skirts were Josephine empire fashioned floo length.
Bridesmaids were: Miss Nancy Findreng, Judy McQuillan, Mary Hill and Mrs. Dante
Unti. They wore dresses identical to the maid of honor's and all wore hair
braided oval picture hats to match the dresses and carried bouquets of cascade
baskets of white and yellow daisies, ivy and bells of Ireland.
A college classmate of the groom, William Collar, was best man, and ushers were:
David Heineke, James Teff, George Kliminski and Edward Cretens.
A reception from 2 to 5 p.m. was held at the Crossroads Restaurant, Hwy 12 and
15, Elkhorn. Mrs. George Kliminski and Miss Holly Havill cut the cake, Miss
Helen Peck served the punch and Mrs. James Wilson and Miss Kathryn Wilson were
in charge of the guest book.
The bride is a 1961 graduate of Thorp High School, attended Mercy Hospital
School of Nursing, Janesville and La Crosse State University. Presently she is
employed at the Crossroads Restaurant, Elkhorn.
The groom is a 1961 graduate of Thorp High School and attends La Crosse State
University. Presently, he is employed with Atlas Van and Storage Co. in
Milwaukee.
After Sept. 13th, the new couple will make their home at 717 Vine St., La
Crosse, Wis.
