Sitko-Hlavac
Miss Julie Hlavac, Chicago, daughter of Mrs. Joseph Hlavac, Spencer, became the
bride of Joseph Sitko, son of Albert Sitko, Staunton, ill., on Saturday, June 26
during a Nuptial Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church. The Rev. Bernard Henry
read the marriage service.
Mrs. Donald J. Holterman, was her sister’s matron of honor. Another sister of
the bride, Miss Frances Jean Hlavac, and a nephew of the groom Robert Sitko,
completed the bridal party.
The bride was gowned in white satin fashioned with a sweetheart neckline which
was lace trimmed, and a bustle back on the entrained skirt. Her veil fell from a
crown of pearlized orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of lilies and
roses.
Mrs. Holterman wore a white ninon formal styled with a lace peplum, puffed
sleeves and a full skirt. The bridesmaid was dressed similarly in aqua. They
carried bouquets of pink roses and white carnations.
Dinner was served to 50 guests in the church parlors and a reception followed.
Guests who came from a distance were Mrs. Sophie Hlavac, Sanborn; Mrs. T. J.
McHale and Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Thurzo and daughter Jeanette, Chicago, Ill.
After a two weeks wedding trip the couple will reside in Chicago where Mrs.
Sitko is employed by the Goldblatt Brothers and the bridegroom by the Ryerson
Steel Corporation.
The Record joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best
wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
