Morris Halverson (29 Apr 1905 – 28 Mar 1961)

MEDFORD - Funeral services for Morris Russel Halverson, 55, town of Holway, who died in St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield Tuesday (28-Mar-1961) will be held at the Holway Lutheran Church at 2 p. m. Saturday (1-Apr-1961). The Rev. Donald Olson will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Ruesch Funeral Home until noon Saturday when the body will be taken to the church.

Halverson had been a lifelong resident of Taylor County. He was born in the town of Little Black on April 29, 1905. His marriage to Ruth Smital took place at Dorchester on Dec. 19, 1929.

He served as treasurer of the town of Holway the past 16 years; was a past director of the Holway School, and a former supervisor for the town of Holway, and former director of the Equity Livestock Shipping Association.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Marjean) Zulke, Athens, and Carol, St. Joseph's School of Nursing, Marshfield; two sons, Richard Halverson, at home, and Harvey Halverson, town of Holway; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Krueger, Waukesha, and Mrs. Andrew Hoffman, town of Holway.
