Granton (26 September 1968)

Mrs. H. A. Treu of Appleton is spending this week with her sisters, Mrs. Anita Landgraf and Mrs. Rosetta Meyer.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Helm spent last week in Melrose with their daughter, Mrs. Sam Seefeldt, and family.

The Royal Neighbor Fidelity Camp, No. 6375, will meet tonight (Thursday) at the home of Mrs. William Schmidtke. Following a short business meeting, members will enjoy a social evening.

William Schmidtke returned home Friday from Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, where he had been a medical patient for several days.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brummer of Mattoon visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. William Lehmann. Mrs. Lehmann and Mr. Brummer are sister and brother. Guests Sunday evening at the Lehmann home were Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Jahr and daughter of Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Bladl of Yuba called Saturday at the Mrs. Anna Zahradka home.

Weekend guests from Friday to Sunday of Mrs. Lloyd Spry were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson and two sons of Wild Rose. Visiting Sunday at the Spry home were Mr. Anderson’s parents and Mr. and Mrs. David Broadwell and sons of Wild Rose.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roehl of Hancock and their son, Don Roehl, and children of Coloma, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schier of Port Edwards and Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Smith of Altoona, were among those that visited relatives and friends in Granton during the weekend and attended the fall festival.

The W. S. C. S. of the United Methodist Church in Granton will hold a bake and rummage sale October 3. Coffee and doughnuts will be served.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Capelle have returned to Herscher, Ill., after spending a weekend with her sister, Mrs. Ted Smith.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Opelt and Larry of Neillsville, and Albert Schlinsog, were supper guests one evening last week at the Roland Quicker home.

Albert Schlinsog was taken to a Marshfield hospital Sunday after suffering a stroke at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Allen Montgomery.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schutte spent the weekend in White Bear Lake, Minn., visiting their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Schutte.

James Laatch has gone to New York City, where he has employment as a technician in Queens College.

Mr. and Mrs. Herb Blum attended funeral services in Two Rivers Wednesday for his father, William F. Blum, 83, who died Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Noel Kirk and family of St. Paul, Minn., were weekend guests at the Marvin Garbisch home and also visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Witt.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kirk and family of St. Paul, Minn., spent the weekend visiting at the Marvin Garbisch and Kenneth Jennings home in Granton, and at the Howard and Roy Jennings homes near Chili.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Elmhorst and two granddaughters from Minnesota visited his father, Louie Elmhorst, over the weekend. Visitors at the Elmhorst home Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Byrl Rowe and family of Owen.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Garbisch attended her 20 year class reunion of Marathon High School Saturday evening in Wausau.
