Falconer, Vada M. (21 SEP 1925 - 15 MAR 2013)

Vada M. Falconer, 87, of Loyal, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013, at Golden Living - Three Oaks in Marshfield. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. at York Center United Methodist Church in rural Granton. Cindy Gehrt will officiate and burial will follow in Loyal Cemetery in Loyal. Active pallbearers will be Nicholas Eisner, Jeffrey Falconer, Lyle Hill, Michael Collinson, Donald Stage, and Bob Collinson. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jim Elsinger, Joe Eisner, Dean Collinson, Vern Hanish, Tim Sheean, and Jim Hill. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Vada Mae Collinson was born on September 21, 1925, in Jacksonville, IL, to George and Edith (Gruber) Collinson. She received her elementary education at Plum Grove School near Thomsen, IL and later attended high school in Plainfield, IL and Thomsen, IL. After completing her education, Vada worked at the Green Giant Canning Co. and the National Sewing Machine Co. in Belvedere, IL. She was united in marriage to Earl Falconer on September 26, 1948, in Belvedere. They moved to Loyal, WI, in 1953 and farmed together for many years. Vada also worked outside her home for Karau's Supermarket in Marshfield, and was a teachers aid for the Loyal Public School District until retiring for health reasons.

In her spare time, Vada loved to read, crochet, collect dolls, listen to country music, and sing. She taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, and helped with other church activities whenever possible. She also loved to travel to the western states, and especially loved to travel to Disneyworld in Florida, and Branson, Missouri. Vada cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her many friends. Until her health problems got bad, she loved going to the Senior Center and playing cards. Vada was always willing to help family and friends whenever needed.

She was a member of the York Center United Methodist Church, the Sew-N-Sew Homemaker Club, and the Jolly Workers 4-H Group.

Vada is survived by her two children, Elaine Falconer and Larry (Kathy) Falconer, both of Marshfield; three grandchildren, Becki (Vern) Hanish of Marshfield; Jeffrey Falconer of Marshfield; and Heather (Joe) Eisner of Rib Lake; four great-grandchildren, Chantel (Mike) Johnson, Joey (fiancee, Ashley Heier) Eisner, Brooke (Jade) Knowles, and her special great-grandson, Nicholas Eisner; five great-great-grandchildren, Stacey, Alexandra, Austin, and Riley Johnson, and Mackenzey Knowles. Vada is also survived by two brothers, Harold (Marliss) Collinson of Curtiss; and Leroy (Elna) Collinson of Neillsville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl on August 16, 2001; two brothers, George Collinson and Lloyd Collinson; two sisters, Florence Stage and Reva Streich; three sisters-in-law, Doris Collinson, Lois Collinson, and Doris Sheean; three brothers-in-law, John Sheean, Charles Hill, and Edward Streich; one niece, Mary Streich; and two nephews, Gary Stage and Greg Hill.

Memorials will set by the family at a later date.
