Decker, Theodore August (13 December 1901 - 1968)
Theodore August Decker, 68, former Greenwood resident, died suddenly at his home
in Chicago Thursday of a heart attack.
Mr. Decker, son of Otto and Lydia (Meier) Decker, was born December 13, 1901, in
Greenwood. He received his education in the Greenwood School. He was married
June 30, 1930, to Evelyn Kepke at Winona, Minn. They lived in Greenwood until
1957, when they moved to Chicago.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Donald Decker of Greenwood and Bernard
Decker of Orlando, Fla.; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Fred of Greenwood,
Arthur of St. Paul, Minn., Otto of Marengo, Ill., and Gilbert of Fountain City;
five sisters, Mrs. John (Edna) Pawleck of Soquel, Calif., Mrs. Harold (Elsie)
Fillips of Glen, Minn., Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) Shortess of Spencer; Mrs. Elmer
(Eleanor) Wolfe of Neenah; and Mrs. Leo (Leona) O’Connell of Rockford, Ill.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from Immanuel United Church. The Rev. David
Logue officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
