Bartelt, William Carl (25 September 1882 - 4 October 1968)
William Carl Bartelt, 86, died Friday in Neillsville after a lingering illness.
He had been a resident of Memorial Home since April of this year.
Mr. Bartelt was born September 25, 1882, at Batavia, Sheboygan County, the son
of Carl and Johanna (Groth) Bartelt. He was married October 16, 1902, to Jennie
Marie Melins at Batavia. She died December 31, 1943.
The Bartelts move in 1913 to a farm two miles west of Greenwood and lived there
until the death of their son, Reuben, June 1, 1940, after which they took their
four grandchildren, Robert, Evelyn, Billy and Douglas Bartelt and moved to the
city of Greenwood.
Survivors are two grandsons, Robert Bartelt of Greenwood and Douglas Bartelt of
Kaukauna, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Grace United Methodist Church. The
Rev. Carl Booher officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Funeral services for William C. Bartelt were held October 8 from Grace Methodist
Church in Greenwood. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Carl
Booher officiated. Pallbearers were Ed Abel, Henry Vollrath, Phillip Vollrath,
Ervin Leach, Cleo Mains and Viv Carteron. The Rev. and Mrs. Arvid Myhrwold sang,
“Blessed Assurance” and “Safe in the Arms of Jesus,” accompanied by Mrs. Carl
Booher.
Attending the funeral from away were Oscar Melins of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas Bartelt and Mrs. Lloyd Lewis of Kaukauna, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Goehring and
Mr. and d Mrs. Claude Catlin of Loyal.
