Greenwood (10 October 1968)
The executive board of the American Lutheran Church Women of Our Savior’s
Lutheran Church met Monday evening to plan the lutefisk and ham dinner which
will be served in the church dining hall October 23. Serving will begin at 4:230
p.m. The menu will include mashed potatoes and gravy, cabbage salad,
cranberries, rolls, apple and pumpkin pie, cheese, carrots Lefse and flat bread.
The price is Adults $2 and Children 75 cents.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Richardson and family of Zion, Ill., spent several days with
his mother, Mrs. Mildred Richardson, and helped her celebrate her birthday.
A joint Mission Festival service was held Sunday at Immanuel United Church at
10:45 a.m. Guest speaker was George Burridge of Green Bay, chairman of the
commission on Christian World Missions for the Wisconsin conference. There were
special musical selections by the Immanuel choir. The altar and tables were
decorated with fruits, vegetables and flowers. A dinner was served at noon.
Mrs. Altha Thomas has returned home from the hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Forbes of Muskegon, Mich., spent from Friday until Monay at
the home of Mrs. Louise Ellingson.
Truman Hill, William Burns and Harold Sten of Mellen returned Sunday evening
from a hunting trip in Idaho.
