Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schmidtke of the Town of York entertained Sunday in honor of
Herman Schmidtke of San Diego, Cal., and Mrs. Ella Duman of Tacoma, Wash., who
have been visiting area relatives. Attending were: Mr. and Mrs. John Lindsay of
Coby; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knoll of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schmidtke, Mrs.
Alice Wehe, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Degenhardt and family, all of Loyal; Mr. and
Mrs. Otto A. Schmidtke and daughter of Stratford; Leo Dankemyer of Neenah; and
Mr. and Mrs. William Schmidtke of Granton.
Herman Schmidtke of San Diego, Cal., and Mrs. Ella Duman of Tacoma, Wash.
Visited several days last week at the home of their brother, William Schmidtke
and visited their sister, Mrs. Leo Dankemyer, who is a patient in Memorial
Hospital in Neillsville. They left Monday accompanied by Mrs. William Schmidtke,
for Ledgerwood, N. D., to spend a few days with a brother Henry Schmidtke.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson and two sons of Wild Rose visited Saturday and
Sunday with her mother, Mrs. Lloyd Spry. They were accompanied to Wild Rose by
Mrs. Spry, who will visit there for a few days.
Louis Krause, who has been receiving medical care in Marshfield for an apparent
heart condition, is now convalescing at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Orville
Garbisch, and family.
Mrs. Harold Searls entertained the October meeting of the West Fremont Homemaker
club. The members spent the afternoon socially.
Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Fox of Bloomington, Minn., spent the weekend visiting her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Lehmann.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dahl and Marlene of New Lennox, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Niederhos of Toledo, O., visited Saturday with Mrs. Elda Bartz. Visiting at the
Bartz home Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Garrison of Wisconsin Rapids.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Braatz and family, and their weekend guests, Mr. and Mrs.
Don Schutt of Plymouth, visited Sunday in Wausau with Mr. and Mrs. Dale Braatz.
Arthur Dahl and his sister, Mrs. Robert Stark accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Alvin
Dahl of the Town of York to Milwaukee Sunday after receiving word of the death
of Mrs. Emma Schneider, sister of (missing name).
Mrs. George Hales and Mrs. Verla Hales were hostesses to the York Center
W.S.C.S. Monday afternoon at the George Hales home. Visitors were Mr. and Mrs.
Emil Korth of Ft. Atkinson and Mrs. Kenneth Grabe of Menasha.
Mrs. Kenneth Grabe of Menasha is spending several days as a guest of Mrs. Frieda
Frischman in the town of York. She also is visiting relatives and friends in the
Neillsville area.
Mrs. Fred Steinich of Menomonee Falls spent last week with her mother, Mrs. Bert
Hayden. Mrs. Donna Thomson of Fifield called one day at the Hayden home to visit
with Mrs. Steinich. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lavey of the town of York called there
Saturday.
The Granton Happy Homemaker club is making its annual tour today (Thursday).
This year members will tour several manufacturing places in Eau Claire. Mrs.
Leland Garbisch and Mrs. Carl Drescher will drive.
Mrs. L. C. Kirk returned Wednesday to St. Paul, Minn., after spending a week
with her daughter, Mrs. Marvin Garbisch, and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mesar of Eau Claire were weekend visitors at the Joe Mesar and
Ray Foemmel homes.
