Hoeppner, Emily (Minarcini) (4 DEC 1915 - 1 FEB 2013)
Emily Hoeppner, 97, Winfield, Kan., died on Friday, Feb. 1 at Cumbernauld
Village in Winfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 11
a.m. at Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Ill.
Miles Funeral Service of Winfield assisted the family with arrangements.
The former Emily Minarcini was born on December 4, 1915 in Indiana to the late
Paul and Susan (Michalicka) Minarcini. She attended schools in Rib Lake.
On October 22, 1941 in Chicago, IL, she married Howard John Hoeppner, who
preceded her in death on June 11, 1991. She worked cleaning houses and later at
General Electric in Chicago while her husband served in the military for the
next five years. She moved to Winfield last year.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.
Survivors include four daughters, Sue (Bill) Smith of Dexter, KS, Valerie (Gary)
Hicks of Margate, FL, Julie Hoeppner of Vincennes, ID, and Patty (Ken) Leaf of
Littleton, CO; a brother, Ronald of Marco Island, FL; a sister, Pauline Koeffler
of McHenry, IL; a son-in-law, Jay English of Roscoe, IL; six grandchildren; and
seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter,
Cheryl English, a brother, Paul, and a sister, Dorothy Joras.
A memorial has been established in her name for the Heritage Ranch Camp in
Dexter.
