Albert A. Lindeman (28 Oct 1888 - 8 May 1953)

Albert Lindeman, 64, former resident of this community (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) died at Gardena, N. Dak., May 8. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Military funeral rites were held from Memorial Hall in Bottineau on Tuesday, May 12, and interment was in Oak Creek Cemetery at Bottineau. Graveside services were conducted by Bottineau Post No. 42, American Legion, of which the deceased was an active member. Special music was by the Zion Lutheran Church choir of Gardena.

Mr. Lindeman was born Oct. 28, 1888, in the town of Mayville on the family homestead west of the village, now occupied by his nephew, Ernest Johnson. He had resided at Gardena, N. Dak., for over 40 years, having gone there as a young man. He enlisted in the armed services and was a veteran of World War I, serving with the famed Rainbow Division, Co. K, 140th Infantry of the AEF in France, and was twice wounded. Later he conducted a garage business at Gardena in partnership with Walter Gipp. Albert was married in Bottineau May 20, 1928, to Minnie Bergman who survives him.

Also surviving are four sisters: Mrs. John (Anna) Johnson, Dorchester; Mrs. Frank (Josephine) Gonsky, and Mrs. William (Vira) Boness, both of Racine; and Mrs. Arlene Laughlin, Grand Forks, N. Dak.

Mrs. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Boness, Mr. and Mrs. Gonsky, and Mrs. Laughlin attended the final rites for their brother, and Mrs. Johnson was expected to return to her home here Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
