William M. Lindeman (24 Mar 1886 - 22 Feb 1950)
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Portland, Ore., for William Lindeman, 64,
who was reared in this community (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI). He died Feb. 23
after an illness of about a year and a half at Portland where he had resided for
many years.
Mr. Lindeman was born in the town of Mayville March 24, 1886, on the farm now
operated by Ernest Johnson, his nephew. About 40 years ago he went to Montana
where he settled on a land claim, and farmed there for several years before he
moved to Portland. On Feb. 11, 1928 he was married to Marion Austin in Longview,
Washington. His widow and a step-son survive. He worked as a millwright in
Oregon, and his last visit here was about 25 years ago.
Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. John Johnson of this village; and
Mrs. Frank Gonsky and Mrs. William Boness, both of Racine, and a brother, Albert
Lindeman, Gardena, N. Dak.
