A TIN WEDDING.

A Very Large and a Very Much De-lighted Assemblage of Guests at the Residence of G. A. Buffington, on the Tenth Anniversary of the Marriage of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Buffington.

The spacious residence of Mr. G. A. Buffington and the beautiful grounds grounds surrounding it was last night the scene of one of the most successful evening entertainments that has ever been given in Ean Claire. The occasion was the tenth anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Buffington, the former the capable secretary and superintendent of the Dells Improvement company and the eldest son of ex-Mayor G. A. Buffington. A large pavilion had been erected on the lawn north of the mansion, and lighted by gas jets supplied with gas through pipes from the cellar. The large lawn was brilliantly illuminated by Chinese lanterns and a spacious marquee occupied a portion of the grounds and was used as a smoking tent by the gentlemen. The guests numbered nearly two hundred, and, after an hour or two of social converse in the house, and after the bride and groom had been greeted with the usual compliments, the company spread over the grounds to spend a pleasant evening and dancing commenced. About eleven o'clock a sumptuous repast including water ices, ice cream, strawberries, meats, cake and invigorating coffee was served. About midnight a slight shower of rain interrupted the general harmony, but was of short duration, and dancing continued till a later hour. The proverbial hospitality of the household was fully sustained and the evening passed off happily and smoothly with all concerned. The array of presents displayed in the east drawing room was very large, only the most striking of which we mention herewith:

A tin plug hat enclosing a brick with the inscription: "Within please find our opinion of each of you," by Mr. and Mrs. Geo. B. Shaw.

A large package labelled. "Not to be opened till July 12," by Capt. W. W. Lee, of Woodville.

A tin necktie for the groom by John Young.

A large water cooler by S. E. Smith.

"An Economist" oil stove by Bletcher, Putnam and McGrath.

A large tin scoop labelled, "To use in putting sugar in tansy," a sprinkler, "To put water in tansy," and a strainer, "Fortansy," by R. J. Kepler.

A beautiful toilet set from Drs. Galloway and Lyman.

A coffee pot from J. G. Ingram.

A jelly mould from S. W. McCaslin.

Three large trays from Mrs. Wm. Newton.

A set of dishes for baby from Infant W. L. Kepler.

A bisque chandelier from Wm. Carson

A very large number of presents, useful and handsome, besides those enumerated, were given, a complete list of which would be too long for publication.
