URIAH M. STONE, real estate and loans, was born in Massena, St. Lawrence Co., N. Y., Dec. 21, 1846; came to Wisconsin, with his father, John F. Stone, in 1849. In August, l863, he enlisted in Co. K, 5th Wis. V. I.; served until June, 1865; when he returned from the army he engaged in milling business, in partnership with his father; afterward in same business in partnership with two of his brothers. He was married in Walworth Co., Wis., in March, 1866, to Alida A. Douglass, a native of that county. They have one child, Gilbert F., born Feb. 18, 1876. Mr. Stone has served two vears as member of the Village Board of Trustees. He is a member of A. F. & A. M. and I. O. O. F; he has been through all the chairs of the latter society.
