LORENZO BENNETT, firm of Bennett Brothers, was born in Tioga County, N. Y., May 14, 1826. Came to Wisconsin in 1846; located in Columbia County; engaged in farming; came to Eau Claire about 1856, and followed same business, until he started mill in 1872; mill was burned in 1877, and rebuilt same year. Was married in Columbia County, in 1849, to Eliza Sage, who died in 1858; left two children — Margaret (now Mrs. Wm. Yules), Lucretia (now Mrs. E. Crow). Was married in Eau Claire County, in 1861, to Martha Barr. They have two children, Scott E. and Rissa. Mr. Bennett was Side Supervisor one year, Town Treasurer two years; has been Pathmaster the last eight or ten years.
