Nadine A. Roach, 85, of Altoona died Friday, May 11, 2007, at her daughter’s home in Altoona. She was born in Vinita, Oklahoma, on July 4, 1921, the daughter of Frank and Mildred (Winters) Rhoads.
She graduated with the class of 1939 from Spencer High School, Spencer, Wis.
Nadine worked for Pacific Telephone in Portland, Ore., during World War II.
She married Thomas R. Roach at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Eau Claire on May 5, 1945. She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Altoona.
Nadine is survived by her four sons; Thomas (Gail) of Eau Claire, Tim (Sandie) of Altoona, Greg (Kathy) of Spooner and Denny of Eau Claire; four daughters, Theresa Aubart of Stillwater, Minn., Mary (Jerry) Nelson of Altoona, Jane (Adolph) Pichler of Mondovi and Katie (Linder) Benson of Altoona; 31 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas, in 1995; a grandson, Tommy Roach; her brother, Chester (Esther) Rhoads; and sister, Muriel Kordus.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Altoona with Father Norbert J. Wilger officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Lenmark-Gomsrud- Linn Funeral Home and one hour before services Tuesday at the church. There will be a 7 p.m. public prayer service today at the funeral home.
