WAS AN EARLY
RESIDENT OF CHIPPEWA.
Mr. E. D, F. Barnett. whose death is reported from Alaska, was one of the early
residents of Chippewa Falls. He was born in Buffalo, New York, in 1846; and came
with his parents to Wisconsin in 1852. He arrived in Chippewa Falls in 1871, and
with his brother; J. D. Barnett, who - died some years ago, engaged in the
insurance and real estate business. Later both brothers entered Seymour's Bank
and conducted the banking business for a number of years. Mr. Barnett was
married in 1857 in Chipewa (Chippewa) Falls to Miss Marietta Rogers. Mr. Barnett was
one of the organizers of the Lumbermen's National Bank and was its first
cashier. He will be remembered by many of the early settlers.
