Flynn, Ellen (1857 - 12 NOV 1953)

Mrs. Ellen Flynn, former Stanley resident, passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 1953, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Winnia Shilts, in Gilman, at the age of 96 years.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 Saturday morning at St. Mary’s Church in Stanley. Rev. Ralph Geissler officiating, with interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Flynn, for many years a resident of Stanley, moved to Chippewa Falls about ten years ago and for the past two years has made her home with her daughter in Gilman. She was born in Quebec, Canada in 1857.

Besides Mrs. Shilts, she is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Mary Shilts of Merango, Wis., and Mrs. Isadore Geist of Boyd; two sons, Martin of Ashland and Thomas of Chippewa Falls; four brothers, Francis McDonald, Stanley; Patrick McDonald of West Virginia and Ned McDonald of Montana; and Mike, address unknown; also three sisters, Esther of Milwaukee; Bridget of International Falls; and Kate of Port Washington, Wis. There are also 38 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Her husband and eight children preceded her in death.
