DeSomer, Helen (1911 - 1999)
Helen “Gram” DeSomer, 87, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Lake Delton, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at the Hannah M. Rutledge Nursing Home in Chippewa Falls.
Helen was born in Fort Atkinson on Nov. 9, 1911, to Louis and Anna (Voy) Kreklow. Helen grew up in Ft. Atkinson and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School.
Helen married Alexander DeSomer on Feb. 15, 1930, in Chicago, Ill.
Helen, lovingly referred to as “Gram,” is survived by her two sons, Robert (Barbara) of Justice, Ill., and Leonard (Sharon) of Oostburg; three daughters, Beverly (Dave) Weise of Wisconsin Dells, Joan DeSomer of Baraboo, and Lucille Kozak of Bridgeview, Ill.; 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and a special daughter-in-law, Linda DeSomer of Chippewa Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband in March, 1982; her parents; two brothers; four sisters and a daughter, Annie.
Memorial funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 1 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells with the Rev. Richard Collier officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
The Picha Funeral Home of Lake Delton assisted the family with arrangements.
