Molzen, Gustave “Gus” (16 Jul 1912 – 18 Feb 1977)

Services for Gus Molzen, 64, Lake Geneva, formerly of the Withee area, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Withee. Mr. Molzen died Saturday morning at a Burlington hospital following a lingering illness.

The Rev. Douglas R. Groenewold, pastor, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Withee Riverside Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church from 1 p.m. Wednesday until time of services.

Mr. Molzen was born July 16, 1912 at Mt. Vernon, N.Y., and moved to the Withee area as a child, where he received his education. He had farmed and worked as a carpenter contractor, leaving the Withee area about six years ago.

On August 30, 1938, at Stanley, he married the former Margaret Kleinschmidt, who survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Richard Varney, Mundelein, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Koetsell, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mrs. Harry (Gertrude) Mogensen, Chicago, Illinois; a brother , Fred, Sioux Falls, S.D., and two granddaughters.
