Tykac, Elfrieda (16 April 1903 – 8 April 1988)
Elfrieda Tykac, 84, of Neillsville, died Friday, April 8, at Neillsville
Memorial Home. She was born Elfrieda Rodehair on April 16, 1903, in Germany. She
received her education in Germany and moved to the United States in 1923.
She married Emil Garbisch in 1923, and he passed away September 5, 1958. She
then married Emil Tykac October 22, 1960. He died March 6, 1978. She lived on a
farm with her first husband, and they later operated the Hilltop Tavern in the
Town of Granton for a number of years. She lived with her second husband in the
Town of Granton. She entered the Neillsville Memorial Home in 1978.
She is survived by one sister, Helen Wischulke, of Neillsville. She was
predeceased by her parents, both husbands, one sister and one brother.
Services were held Monday, April 11, at Zion American Lutheran Church in the
Town of Grant. The Rev. Alice Hill officiated. Burial was made in the Town of
Grant Cemetery.
