Stahlbusch, James W. (14 Mar. 1915 - 21 Nov. 2000)

James W. Stahlbusch, 85, of 610 Gray St., and formerly of Elk Mound, died Tuesday, November 21, 2000, at The Clairemont.

James was born March 14, 1915 to Louis R. and Charlotte (Ludvigson) Stahlbusch in Elk Mound. He grew up in rural Elk Mound. On December 17, 1937 Jim married Arlene L. Larson in Elk Mound.

For five years, he operated a milk route in Chippewa County. He was a mechanic for many years including over twenty years at Richartz Implement in Menomonie. After retiring in 1978, he continued to do mechanic work for Menomonie Transportation, Menomonie.

Jim was a member of Barum Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council.

Survivors include three sons, David (Phyllis), town of Union, Dick (Judi) of Eau Claire, and Dennis (Connie) of Mound, MN; three daughters, Janet Stahlbusch of Elk Mound, Judy (Tom) Atkins of Anchorage, AK, and Joan (Tom) Munson, Rosenberg, TX; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Stahlbusch of Eau Claire; 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold "Buck" Stahlbusch of rural Colfax; a sister, Eleanor (Bill) Tippet, of Arapahoe, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Harland Hanson of Libertyville, IL; a sister-in-law, Lenore Larson of Eau Claire; many nieces and nephews; and his very special companion, Vicki Walby of Eau Claire, and her family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlene in 1986; a son, Dale, in 1977; two sisters, Marion Hanson and Jeanette Larson.

Memorial Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Barum Lutheran Church, with Rev. Hal Schroetter officiating. Burial will be in Barum Lutheran Cemetery in the Township of Elk Mound. Friends and relatives may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

Family suggests that memorials please be directed to Barum Lutheran Church.
