The Rev. Joseph R. Kraly of 201 N. West St., Loyal, has been pastor of Trinity
Lutheran Church (American Lutheran Church) at Loyal since coming from Caroline,
Wisconsin in October 1979. Kraly was born February 27, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio.
In 1959 he attained his B.A. degree from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio;
in 1963 his B.D. degree from Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary,
Columbus, Ohio; and in 1982 his master of divinity degree from Trinity Lutheran
Seminary at Columbus, Ohio. His ordination took place January 24, 1964 at St.
Paul's Lutheran Church in Youngstown, Ohio. The Loyal pastor has been a
certified pastoral counselor in kyrgmatic hypnotherapy since 1971; served as
geriatric chaplain for Lutheran Social Services of northeastern Ohio for five
years (1968-1973); and served as chaplain counselor for Alcoholics Anonymous of
southeastern Ohio from 1963-67. Before coming to Loyal, he served parishes in
Pomery, Ohio, from 1964-67; at Alliance, Ohio, 1967-73; and at Caroline from
1973-79. He is chairman of the Marshfield Conference; vice chairman of the
District Council of the Northern Wisconsin District, American Lutheran Church;
and vice chairman of the NWD Executive Committee. He and his wife, Beverly A.,
are the parents of two sons, Christopher, 11, and Joseph, 7.
