Thornsten, Peter (22 Oct 1882 – 7 Mar 1977)
Peter Thornsten, aged 94, of R.R. 2, Colby, of the town of Hull, died on Monday,
March 7, 1977 at 8:00 p.m. in the Colonial House of Colby.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 1977 at 1:30 p.m. at the
Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, with Rev. Kenneth Dix officiating.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 9, 1977 after 4 p.m. at the Kraut-Maurina
Funeral Home.
Mr. Thornsten was born October 22, 1882 in Sweden, and came to this country in
1900. He first worked for a dairy farm in the State of Washington. In 1918 he
moved to the Curtis area, and lived and worked there until 1926.
In 1926 he moved to Withee and worked on the Soo Line Rairroad on a section crew
until retirement in 1948. He moved to the town of Hull in the Colby area in
1959.
Mr. Thornsten married Edith Wedin of Owen on May 30, 1930.
The deceased is survived by his wife, Edith, one son, Kenneth Thornsten of
Highland Park, Illinois, on daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Ellen) Cortesi, also of
Highland Park, one brother, Olf, living in Sweden, and three grandchildren.
